“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.” (Proverbs 6:6-8)
Ants are one of the most fascinating creatures on earth. They’re so fascinating that we’re told in the Bible to study them. One remarkable attribute of ants is that they never quit. Death is virtually the only force that can stop the motion of an ant. Perhaps we ought to cultivate a drive that is strong enough that only death can stop us from proceeding steadily towards our objectives.
Benjamin Disraeli – former British Prime Minister – once said, “nothing can withstand the power of the human will if it is willing to stake its very existence to the extent of its purpose.” Though they’re tiny and are generally considered nuisances, humans have many lessons to learn from ants; and the attitude of being tenacious towards our goals and desires is at the top of the list.
