When I was in high school, I saw people around me that looked ‘cool’. Looking ‘cool’ was wearing clothes that showed ALOT of skin. The boys loved this, obviously, and I wanted to be cool too. I felt that showing more cleavage and cheeks would make me cool. You know what it made me? Uncomfortable. Really what I loved was fashion. I loved wearing clothes and making it my own. So, I began to focus more on that than trying to be cool. Guess what happened then? I became cool! At least I think so! People loved my dressing and always complemented me. Even today I am always commended for looking good without showing sooo much.
Being ‘cool’ now-a-days requires showing even MORE skin. We live in a world now where it has become okay to wear sheer clothes that literally show your nipples and show what panties you have on for that day. Yeah… y’all know what I’m talking about. If everyone sees your nipples, what’s left to hide? If your wearing that skirt that will show goods with just one slip, what’s left to hide? Listen, you can look good with clothes on! You can be confident with clothes on. You can be ‘cool’ with clothes on. It’s not really fashion if there’s no clothes on you right? Don’t let your friends or social media define what you put on. If you look like everyone else, then what makes you ‘cool’ and stand out? Be different. That’s the only way for everyone to look at you. Show YOU.
