The ancient Greek aphorism, “Know Thyself” holds so much truth. To do anything of worth, we must know ourselves beyond the opinion of others.
For some reason, people feel the need to attack good things. These attacks seem cynical until we learn that it’s just the way life is set up. Good things must tested for authenticity. This is why we must not rush the transformation that will lead us to the top. During the course of these transformations, we develop the “thick skin” required to keep our heads up during these tests. Even though observing the lives of major stars in different fields doesn’t suggest that their status gets tested, the truth remains that they frequently get tested. All good things will be tested.
During these tests, knowing ourselves and our true capabilities might be the only string we have within our grasp. Hoping on external affirmations might prove to be a long shot. It’s also best to learn a thing or two about yourself before these life tests when there seems to be a good amount of calm.
Know your beauty. Appreciate your sense of humor; no one else has to get it. Give yourself some credit for being tenacious when your initial plans don’t work. There are things you do that make you valuable. Take some time to ponder the qualities you possess that reinforce the essence of who you believe yourself to be.
